Evanescence Concert

Hey Everyone!

I had a great time last night...except for the Mosh pit which somehow magickally emerged right next to me. I've been to quite a few concerts, but have never found myself in the middle of this. I hated being brutally pushed, and for the life of me, I can't figure out why grown men (no women, of course!) would jump into the air and body slam each other. This is silly to me. I don't understand it.

The concert was Chevelle, Finger Eleven, and of course....Evanescence. Chevelle and Evanecence were awesome. Amy Lee has a beautiful voice and her piano playing is fantastic. The way she combines her rocker attitude with classic piano and her beautiful voice her remarkable. Overall, I had alot of fun, besides the mosh pit and the drunk sailors who spilled a cup of beer down me becasue they were running around in circles like drunken idiots.....and I'm not joking. They truly were running around in circles....

If you get the chance....see Evanescene.....they are awesome. Just an FYI, I listen to them when I write.

New Poem for writers and more Ireland pictures...

THE PHOTOS ABOVE ARE FROM BLARNEY CASTLE WHERE YOU CAN KISS THE FAMOUS BLARNEY STONE FOR THE GIFT OF GAB. I TOOK THESE ON OCT 16,2006. I AM EXTREMELY PROUD OF THE TOWER PICTURES BOTH IN BLACK AND WHITE AND COLOUR, BECAUSE I TOOK THOSE AND WILL SIZE THEM TO 8X10'S FOR MY LIVING ROOM (WHICH HAS PICTURES OF ALL THE PLACES WEVE TRAVELLED TOO) iM A TRAVEL NUT!!! SHARE YOUR TRAVEL STORIES WITH ME!. IF YOU LIKE THEM, CONTACT ME AND MAYBE WE CAN ARRANGE SOMETHING SO I CAN SEND YOU THE PICTURES TOO.

THE BLARNEY STONE WAS A HEFTY HIKE TO THE TOP, IVE ENCLOSED A PICTURE OF WHAT MOST OF THE STAIRS IN CASTLES ACROSS IRELAND LOOK LIKE AND THE TOP OF BLARNEY CASTLE WHERE THE STONE IS THAT YOU KISS (I HAVE MORE DETAILED PICS OF THE ACTUALLY BLARNEY STONE ILL POST LATER).

IMAGINE WALKING THOSE IN THE DARK WITH SLICK STONE AND FLAME TORCHES AND CRAPPY SHOES. I ACTUALLY SLID DOWN 4 STAIRS AND LET ME TELL YOU A THING OR TWO ABOUT SLIPPING ON STONE STAIRS, YOUR SORE FOR DAYS! IF NOT WEEKS! YOU HAVE TO CLIMB TO THE TOP TO KISS THE BLARNEY STONE, THEN LEAD BACKWARDS ON YOUR BACK TO KISS IT. THERE IS AN ATTENDANT WITH YOU.

QUICK STORY ABOUT BLARNEY CASTLE: THE OWNER OF BLARNEY KEPT THE ENGLISH FROM SEIZING HIS PROPERTY AND CASTLE HOME DURING THE TIME ENGLAND TRIED TO OVERTAKE THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND SO HE WOULD WRITE LONG, BEAUTIFUL LETTERS TO ENGLAND'S QUEEN ELIZABETH (I BELIEVE IT WAS QUEEN ELIZABETH, IF IM WRONG PLEASE LET ME KNOW) NOT THE CURRENT QUEEN, THIS WAS LIKE 1100) AND SHE WAS SO FLATTERED BY HIS WRITING THAT SHE NEVER TOOK THE CASTLE AND THATS HOW THE BLARNEY STONE GOT ITS NAME BECASUE IT'S OWNER KEPT THE CASTLE AND GROUNDS FROM HIS ELEQUENCE AND GIFT OF TALKING.

I'LL POST MORE FROM IRELAND LATER. IF YOU WOULD LIKE COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG, JAMESTOWN, CHARLESTON OR TO SEE MY VERY OWN GHOST PIC MY HUSBAND TOOK LEAVE A RESPONSE OR EMAIL ME: HCD@HEIDICDAHLQUIST.ORG (THIS ISNT CAP SENSITIVE)

SLAINTE CAIRDE (IRISH FOR CHEERS FREINDS) THERE ARE 2 KINDS OF GAELIC....IRISH AND SCOTTISH BUT THEY ARE VERY SIMILIAR.

In times of need, I look to you.
To see your strength, your love.
You are there through everything calling me to rise above.
You are my strength, my hope,

Happy St. Patty's Day!!!!!!

HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY!!!

This and Halloween are my two favorite holidays. So, tonight in honor of St. Patrick and my Irish family who came to the USA in the 1760's from County Down, I say, SLAINTE (especially after I have a few drinks at the pub.....Blumers would be my drink of choice if they had it in the states or better yet....honey mead!)!!!! Thanks to them I have a great Irish heritage and after visiting Ireland last October, this St. Patrick's day has more meaning than before. One year I will venture to Ireland for St. Patricks Day and that will be a hoot. When I was there in October I did book research and when I go back next fall, I will do the same, but the country has heart and flavor. I love it. It feels like home. Everyone is so friendly and it's sop simple and peaceful.

Slainte Cairde!

PS....Oh yeah..I'm wearing my favorite tshirt I bought in Ireland today.....it says......"The Leprechans made me do it! hahaha.......thats right.....they did make me do it!
