Hope

I recently read a book called God on a Harley (c) Pcoket BooksISBN: 0-671-00278-3. This was the most inspiring book I have ever read! It is by Joan Brady and it is short, maybe 120 pages and filled with wisdom. This book is a MUST READ for everyone!!!!!!!! I highly recommend it, it will change your life. Thanks Joan Brady for the writing!

Here are the main elements of the book:

1. Do not build walls, for they are dangerous. Learn to transcend them.

2. Live in the moment, for each is precious and not to be squandered.

3. Take care of yourself, first and foremost.

4. Drop the ego. Be real. And watch what happens.

5. All things are possible all of the time.

6. Maintain Universal Flow. When someone gives, its an act of generosity to recieve. For in giving, there is something gained.

Done

After studying for a week. Making sure I understand Fluid and Electrolytes and how they work in IV solutions and which adds volume to the cells of the body, which is isotonic and which sends fluids from the blood vessells to the cells, I'm ready to be done. The final this morning was easier than I thought, but I'm superstitious and wont hold my breath until I see my final score. I'm also one of those students who calculates every percentage to see how high or low I can get on a test. Ahhh. I hate tests. HATE THEM!

The good news is the first part of nursing is done! The next starts May 7th and it will be Psych Nursing, Labor & Deliver, and Peds. I'm kind of nervous about peds, I dont want tohurt a child by giving them an injection. Im thrilled toexperience Labor and Deliver and hopeI can see a baby being born! As for Psych Nursing, I have both a bachelors and masters degree in Psychology so I'm kind of excited to apply what Ive learned over the years.

This class will gothrough summer, giving me a break between June 30 and August 13. So, I'll have my Bday off....GO AUG 3!!!I'm very big on celebrating my birthday! Go figure, I'm a Leo. Then we resume classes again and finish Nursing 201.....and go to Medical Surgical Nursing for 2 semesters and then on to m senior work.

Pics

****Cliffs of Moher, Ireland and Jamestown, Virginia USA PICS****

These pictures are of Jamestown from 2005.....this year it celebrates it's 400th anniversary. The Queen will be here in Virginia on May 4 to view Jamestown as the 1st English Settlement. I've been to both the Historic Part of Jamestown where they have a historic dig going on and to the new Jamestown Center. There are three ships...the Godspeed, Susan Constant, and I forget the name of the third. Each ship you can walk on and is an exact replica from the ships the colonists and Capt James Smith arrived on. They evern sail these ships on the bay once a year. The center is wonderful and they are dressed in period clothes and work on the center as if it was 400 years ago.

The other pictures were taken on Oct 13 2006 at the Cliffs of Moher on the west coast side of Ireland. The day there were taken was extremely windy and we were fearful to walk to the edge. On our return trip next year, we will venture closer and explore further. I hope you enjoy these pictures.

Finals

Ive been studying for my Nursing Final. I hate cumulative finals becasue there is so much to study. My philosphy is if you dont know it now, you wont learn it in a day. All I can do is review everything. I'm sure many of you know what I'm talking about.

When I earned my Masters degree in Psychology, everything was written. I'd have a 5-10 page paper due twice a week and a final paper of 50-80 pages. This developed my writing ability, and I'm thankful for that. The point is in Grad school we never had tests, just written work and projects which I loved! I hate tests and I have horrible test anxiety!

Next week is my break week between classes and I have a lot of work to do. I'm hoping to finish the revision, or at least the first draft of the revision during the week. I have alot of work ahead of me.

LEO

Yep, I am a LEO, I love the spotlight and leading people. I like attention. I am proud.....well to a point anyway. One of my best friend's who has been explaining astrology to me, and I find it fascinating. We looked up the moon phases at our birth, and I was born Aug 3, 1972 at the EXACT time of sunrise, making me like a 3rd degree Leo or maybe a 4th degree Im not positive , Ill explain more when I understand.

The moon was waning, or moving from full to new....growing dark again the day I was born. This means time for change, to change old patterns. My close friend on the other hand works as a wonderful spiritual advisor and psychic ( she is the most accurate psychic I've ever met) and she was born at the EXACT time of sunset, on a wanning moon, almost to the same degree as me. She was born July 3, and I, Aug 1. We have a close connection, that helps to explain our close freindship and communication.

What I'm trying to say is simple, astrology can be very simple or complicated depending on how you look at it, and it's not a proven science like chemistry, but it's INTERESTING. I write fantasy and paranormal novels, so this can add spice and connections between my characters.

JUST FYI INFO.........BLUE MOON.....

I also want to say the phrase "Once in a BLUE MOON"is an old pagan phrase. A true "BLUE MOON", only occurs every 3-5 years and it means there are 2 full moons within a lunar cycle. We have one in 2005, August I think it was. We have a BLUE MOON this JUNE.....June 1 and June 30 (fascinating its the very first and last day of the month), with the summer solstice or longest day of the year (sunlight) on June 21. This is traditionally known as the magickal day that the human world is able to fade or communicate and pass into the faery (or fairy) world.

Shooting

Today was a sad day here in Virginia. Most of us here know someone who atteneded or attends Va Tech in Blacksburg, VA. This university is tough to get into and a great school. I am deeply saddened by the shooting and death of 32 people. The world is a crazy place and you never know when your time will expire. My hearts, thoughts, and prayers go out to the friends and family members of those who lost someone in the shooting today.
