I spent some time at the driving range yesterday.....I couldnt help it. It called to me. I have a few months old driver and Ive been learning how to hit it. We'll yesterday, I think I figured out how to hit it the right way. I have to powerhouse the darn thing. Literally. I was getting drives that were consistently 200 plus yards and straight. Cool. Very cool. I tried to imprint in my mind and body how it felt to hit the club. I have to widen my stance, and literally put all my power into the swing and try to hit the ball like there is no tommorrow. Ive never done this before. Ive always had a solid swing and hit lightly to get my long straight drives. I think Im improving my game and swing and this is aweome. I cant wait to polish this new swing down and play on the course. I'm hoping I can get enough of my game back this year(2007) to play some small tournaments. Playing golf is awesome and I tend to get really competitive. Is this good or bad? I like to think good becasue its a good individual sport where you try to beat your best, time and time again. Ive asked for new clubs for christmas, not woods, just irons. Ive discovered that I hit men's clubs better than womens. I think its the extra weight and length that help me. Besides, its time for new clubs, mine are from when I played on the golf team in school.
That makes them almost 20 years old. Yep. Time for new ones. Technology has changed. ALOT. The clubs now are just different than they used to be. I need a new bag too. I have a brown PING bag. Its old and ugly, yep....need something new and I dont want pink! Ick. Green or blue maybe. Black always works but fades in the sun.
Oh yeah....and I want some new skates. Ice skates. I used to skate alot when I was growing up. I know downtown, they have a rink and Id like to go. I know its been like 15 years since Ive skated but once you have learned it comes back. I know Ill fall but who cares....Ill just get up and try again. I wont quit. See a trend? Im finding myself craving sports more and more.
