Almost Done....

The edits are going good. Im down to less than 50 pages and Ill finish today and start entering the edits into the computer so I can get them off to editors. Ive cut alot but thats Ok, I am saving the cuts for other books becasue they explain alot of metaphysical stuff which is important for this series. Im actually teaching some metaphysics when you read my books, as for the ghost hunting, its close to real, the same equiptment is used but this is fantasy ladies and gents so I have my own magickal system. Im using magickal and not magical becasue to spell it with the "k" is the real magick, the real spells. Magick doesnt come from spells, just saying them wont help your spell come true, you have to have intention and believe or your magick is moot.

Tests and Publishers

Ahhhhhhhhh what can I say. I didnt do much this weekend except printed my book at kinkos, and all 500 pages of it and wrote essay tests for my night business classes. It cost me $35 to print the book, but the cost of printer paper and an ink cartage would have consumes that. I HAVE to get the edits done. Im on page 200. They are simple edits and I plan on having them done by Friday. Why so soon? I have another publisher interested in me! YEAHHHH. I really hope the literay agency in New York comes through though. I like the people there, they are kind and I think I could have a good working relationship with them. They are Writers House, and even if they pass me be by, I will have the utmost respect for them. Im praying though, very heavily that they like my work. Ill know in 6-8 weeks.

My book is better and better each time I rewrite. Now I know why writers talk about edits, Im literally throwing away 50% of my original writing, not totally throwing it away, I have placed in in another file for future useage. Ive always heard writers talk about disgaurding alot of their work during edits, now I understand. Ive had that "aha" moment. I want to give a big thank to Laurell K Hamilton who helpd me recently. Im listening to the soundtrack for Queen of the Damned which gets me in the mood to write but the problem is I have alot of edits to do and Ghost shows are on all night!!!!!!! My kind of night! I have a graveyard three houses down and Im tempted to go in there at night....It takes ALOT to scare me. Maybe Im truly an an envisioner.....LOL

Homework

Ive been trying to get this homework assignment for my ethics class done for over a week. Something always seems to come up. Its more like I just dont wnat to do it. I should know better, Im an college instructor myself. Ive been asked to present my thesis at my school. Do I want to do it? Well? If I get a big fat raise and credit for my work I do. =) Raises always help.

The homework has to be a miniminum of 2 pages which for means a min of 5 for me. I can never just write a mininim amount, imagine that, but it's the writer in me. The writing is getting better. Ive been working on full book edits. I swear, ever time I see the same page I can find a new way to reword it so it sounds better. I need to stop that, finish it, and make it good. The editors, once the book is bought, will tear it up and give me more work. Argh. But, I want you as the reader to read the best possible work I have. The semi synposis for Incubus Illusions or book 2 is posted on page one of the website. It will be altered the more I write it and I will put a synoposis for A Supernatural Kind of Love up too...give me time, a girl needs to breathe......AHHHHHHHHHHH

Sept 11

Let Freedom Ring. We need to take a moment of silence for those who died on Sept 11, but not just here, those who were killed by terrorists in London, Spain, etc. They suffered too. WE need to acknowledge them too. This needs to stop. Terrorism has always existed but today its more widely known becasue of modern media.

I will admit I am a hardened patriot. My ancestors (and YES I can PROVE it) fought in the American Revoultion. We all need to be free and those who arent are jealous.

THe Day God Forgot to Be kind......

OK, simple, I'm a medication called Lasix, becasue another doc messed up which isnt kind to my body. Lets just say I am living by the bathroom today, tommorrow, yesterday,monday, and Tuesday, and its not what people call number one and number two. Its number. GROSSSSS. I was going to spare all my loyal fans this drama!!! I wasnt going to post this but it has a deeper meaning. I developed a plot for an envisioner book on one of my numberous trips to the restroom. YEAH

Lets just say that the book with have an explainaion on the secret Druide Clan, a reason for its exestence, and a depper look a the Fey. For those of you who are learning the Fey are the Fairy. I love , absolutuly LOVE the FEY!!!!!!!!!!!!. I wont say whixh court but if black magic had been used centruies ago.....you could guess it wasnt the good fey. You see Fey are divided into Seelie Court the court of the light....GOOD Fey and Unseelie, Court of the dark, Bad Fey as some call them. But are they really all bad???

I sent another script off today, Im not saying where but I did. I will be sending a few to the UK soon. Hopfully someone bites becasue that would make my year! I will be throwing one heck of a party they day by book is published and I see it on a book shelf!

I loved this man, he made me laugh, smile, and his crazy antics kept me interested in wildlife. I truly feel for his family, close friends, and children. I cant begin to imagine what they must be going through. My heart is with them, my prayers are with them. God Bless them.

I heard the sad news about Steve Irwin. I loved his shows and my prayers go out to his wife, children, family, and close friends. God bless all of you. I know I will miss him, he brought alot of joy to my life via his shows.

Labor Day Weekend

This weekend is a holiday weekend and thankfully were all off on Monday! Yeah! I finished the first edits and am ready to send off the script. Ill strat working on the rest of the edits. Ive been pretty busy lately with prepping for 2 new classes to teach at work, editing Guilty From Beyond the Grave, and homework for an Ethics class Im taking. But seriously, its ethics, come on, how hard can it be? Ive already had 3 philosphy and ethics classes, you would think that they would accept those, but no, so I have to take this class.

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend, mine is full of work, but thats Ok, anytime Im writing is good work. Writing isnt always all fun, you have to put in the hours to get the prize, just like with anything else. Tonight I hope to go down to the oceanfront for the American Musical Fest. Im not paying for the concert, I think its Three Doors Down, but I love to watch the people and being around people stirs ideas for book plots in my head. This weekend also maks the end of the tourist season, so us locals will have some lower prices and peace again.

and hopefully lower gas prices......

almost done

The edits for the first 50 pages are almost done. These are the edits that go to New York. Im trying to make them the best I can. After all, my writing is a representation of who I am. I want them to be professional quality so I must do the time and sit my butt down on the computer and write, write, write.

Finally the sun is out and Im thinking about heading to the driving range and hitting some balls when Im done with the final edits. Ive been hitting the new driver well, just not getting the distance out if it I wanted. Im getting 150 yards but I want 200. That means I need more upper body strength. I guess Ill have to fix that by lifting weights.

When I finish with the edits I shall post the beginning of the book, this is the final edit on it so it wont change. I have introduced a new character who will show up in future books (beware spoiler).

New Website!

OK everyone, Im working on a new website. The address will be the same but I will use frontpage to create it. Im pretty computer stupid so does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Can I put music on it? If so do I need permmission from the singer to do so???

Tommorrow Im sending off the first 50 pages of my book to a HUGE New York City Literary Agent. I was referred by a best selling author so please say a prayer for me!!!!!!!! I need all the help I can get. Did you realize that the agent sells the book and gets 15 % commission but they get you the best book, movie, TV show, and international rights! Pray for me!!

Tropical Storm

Today we had a tropical storm hit us. Luckily for us, we maintained power but 30,000 people did not. I am finishing my revisions for the first 50 pages and have determined which beginning I will use. I had a debate between two beginnnings and this one won out. I have a agent waiting for the first 50 pages, she requested them and becasue I was referred by someone I want my beginning to be perfect.

I had to see the damage and flooding so we went driving and the small lakes around here have overflowed into the main streets. People were stranded in their cars. Come on people, if the water looks deep and you cant see the curb, please dont drive through it. Thankfully the rain has passed and now its just wind.

Wish me luck with the agent!
